Her brands include Jane Grech Dance Centre, Pirouettes Dancewear, Dance Studio Success with Jane Grech and DanceStep Student Teacher Education Program.
An author, speaker and sought after thought leader on the topics of dance education, entrepreneurship and leadership, Jane is passionate about engaging, motivating and inspiring others to lead significant and fulfilled lives.
Embracing opportunities to encourage and support dance studio owners Jane works as a Leadership and Studio Growth Coach with Dance Studio Owners Association and is a regular contributor to Dance Informa Magazine, Dance Studio Owners Association and her own blog, Dance Studio Success. We are delighted to have Jane as a speaker at our VDF Teacher 'Vitality' Day in 2019! She took time out of her busy schedule to answer a few quick questions.
With so many projects on the go how to you stay organised?
"Organisation is my super power with delegation a close second! I spend Sunday evenings reflecting on the week that was, and mapping out the week to come. This helps me be intentional about where to place my focus instead of simply reacting to what others may see as important or urgent."
The best piece of advice or phrase to live by for my career is...
“Live a life of service”….. "While it was never explicitly said to me, this piece of advice was role modelled to me over the last 40 years from my father, and that is to be a servant leader. It is important to me that I use my energy and gifts to serve others, including my students and families, my employees and my colleagues. This philosophy has helped me move from ‘chasing success’ to ‘ seeking significance’."

"Life coaches in disguise. I believe that dance teachers can be important influences in the lives of their dance students and this can be a both a privilege and a burden. It is essential that dance teachers constantly up-skill through professional development to benefit from recent research and strategies to positively guide their students bodies, minds and hearts."
Outside of dance I love to…
"Spend time with my three children and husband. Beyond that, walking by myself on the beach fuels my heart, and quietly sitting on my bed reading a good book fuels my head. I’m a real party animal ;) ..."
I'm inspired by...
"Purpose fuelled strong women determined to make a difference in the world by challenging the status quo. Not limited to but inclusive of people such as Gail Kelly, Anna Bligh, Hilary Clinton and my Grandma [deceased]."
What are you most excited about at VDF 2019?
"I get so excited watching the joy emanate from the dancers as they enjoy the Festival, but for me connecting with other dance studio owners and teachers is really fulfilling. It’s a wonderful time to build community and strengthen relationships, and I cant wait to do just that."
