After six months as a senior artist Adam was promoted to principal artist in 2008, a position he held for 16 years.

Throughout his career, Adam embraced a variety of roles, dancing all the major lead roles in the classical canon to contemporary works and new commissions, collaborating with choreographers such as Christopher Wheeldon, Sir Wayne McGregor, and Alexei Ratmansky. He also had the privilege of working with numerous esteemed teachers, coaches, and repetiteurs, all of whom played an integral role in shaping his artistry. His performances were recognized with Green Room Award nominations in 2007 and 2009, and a nomination for the prestigious Benois de la Danse for his portrayal of Siegfried in Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake in 2009.

Adam’s commitment to ballet extends beyond the stage. He holds a Graduate Diploma of Elite Dance Instruction from The Australian Ballet School, specializing in the Vaganova syllabus, reflecting his dedication to teaching and mentoring.

After a fulfilling 22-year career with The Australian Ballet, Adam retired in 2023. He continues to share his passion for dance as the artistic director of The Boys Summer School in Sydney, where for the past three years he has been inspiring and training aspiring young male dancers. Adam remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of dancers, whilst passing on his knowledge and love for the art form.
