OPPORTUNITIES TO SECURE FURTHER TRAINING AND
VDF brings dancers exciting opportunities
for career development.
In 2023 we had masterclasses and auditions with
three international giants in dance and entertainment.
Joffrey ballet school
The Joffrey Ballet School returned to the VDF Dance Festival in 2023! Associate Artistic Director and Summer Artistic Director, Michael Waldrop, came direct from the School in New York City to teach classes in Ballet and Contemporary masterclass auditions. Participating students were considered for placement and potential merit-based scholarship to worldwide summer intensives in Ballet, Jazz & Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. Some dancers were even invited to join our year-round Trainee Program in New York City or our Pre-Professional Programs in Texas and Los Angeles! The masterclass auditions were only available to VDF ticket holders.
Royal caribbean cruise line
Royal Caribbean Productions, the premier producer of industry entertainment, employs, cultivates, and expands careers for exceptional dancers for its fleet of over 140+ Signature Productions, iconic Aquashows, and 7 hit Broadway/West End musicals aboard their fleet of 26 state-of-the-art ships. At VDF23 Royal Caribbean Productions hosted a Masterclass and Q & A and Open Audition and gave dancers an insider’s look at what Royal Caribbean has to offer a professional dancer and the opportunity to get in front of the casting team.
creative studios from Norwegian CRUISE LINE HOLDINGS
Creative Studios is the in-house entertainment production company for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Creative Studios ran a Master Class with Sophie Holloway, and the casting team participated in a Q&A; where dancers were able to get a feel for Norwegian's productions and style, and see what it's like to be a professional dancer at sea! Creative Studios also held an open dancer audition for dancers 18 and over. Pre registration was required.
