Bio

Cindy Ambridge is a dance and consent specialist focused on body psychology education with a Performing Arts career spanning over 30 years.

Cindy has trained extensively with most internationally recognised training programs and is now a fully certified Intimacy coordinator and Director. In this role, she supports actors with new and emerging consent protocols for stage and screen, ensuring performer boundaries are honoured. So far, she has worked in film, TV commercials, musicals, theatre, and music video productions.

As a young dancer, she trained in all genres before performing professionally as a dancer and live-action performer across the globe in locations such as Las Vegas, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, China, and Singapore, as well as in Australia.

An innovative arts educator, Cindy has taught dance in numerous Queensland high schools and studios and has undertaken roles as an exam marker, assessment endorser, and result confirmer for Queensland’s curriculum body. She has also served as a Senior Project Writer for Curriculum into the Classroom, contributing to dance teacher resources for use by Queensland dance teachers.

"Class for the Heart," a program founded by Cindy, has gained popularity in South East Queensland studios and schools. These specialty workshops teach mindset, well-being, safe-dance, and basic anatomy to foster a wholistic approach to dance conditioning.

She is a fierce advocate for the need to increase continuing professional development in the dance industry. Cindy herself holds a Bachelor of Behaviour Science (psychology), Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Creative Industries (Dance), is a qualified yoga teacher and mental health first aider.

In 2024, Cindy was a content writer for the new AusDance QLD's SafeDance for Kids program, sharing her knowledge on consent protocols, safe stretching well-being. She also presented at the Queensland Dance Educators Conference and the Drama Queensland Conference, teaching consent processes for the Performing Arts.

Cindy can’t wait to share considerations and opportunities with fellow passionate Dance educators.
