TIM PODESTA

We are so excited to announce that Tim Podesta is coming to VDF for the first time!

Tim Podesta graduated from The Australian Ballet School and danced internationally, performing roles by some of the leading choreographers of our time. It was working with such luminaries that inspired him to explore choreography and eventually start his own company, Projection Dance.

Projection Dance is the creative force from which Podesta articulates his style of physical vocabulary, frequently shifting from classical ballet to modern dance for large companies such as the Queensland Ballet to gala performances for international ballet stars from the Royal Ballet company and beyond.

Podesta’s acclaimed productions have been performed throughout the world with collaborations extending to film and visual arts prompting Paul Ransom of Dance Informa to observe, ‘Australian choreographer Tim Podesta is one of those rare people about whom you can say ‘they have the world at their feet’.

International outreach fuels Podesta and his company to explore the development of dance education through vocational training programs and community engagement with an eye on making dance as accessible as possible. This multi disciplinary focus places Podesta in regular demand as a jury member for international ballet competitions, guest teacher and advocate for a variety of private and government organisations nationally and internationally.
